Each of our wolf dogs were neglected, abandoned or at risk of being euthanized in a shelter. They are our ambassadors for the hundreds of wolf dogs in need in this country today. They are here to give a voice to the ones that can not speak for themselves and they will live out their lives here with us. Those of us in wolf dog rescue are overwhelmed with requests for help and in fact we are in a "rescue crisis". Wolfdogs or wolf hybrids are being lost every day because we simply have no place to put them.
The number one reason for abandonment is a lack of understanding the animal and a lack of commitment. Wolf dogs are very special needs animals and anyone deciding on ownership MUST educate themselves in the ways of the wolf dog. The misunderstanding that you will have a wolf that acts like a dog is a fairytale that DOES NOT ALWAYS come true. Education is the key to responsible  wolf dog ownership. You must be willing to change your lifestyle to fit the animal, he may not change his life style to fit yours!! It must be a life time commitment and your animal needs to be a priority in your life for the rest of his life.  If you have answered one of those adds that says *wolfdog hybrid puppies for sale*  and that cute little puppy that you purchased starts to exhibit behaviors that you are not prepared to deal with, you will have very few options. Most Shelters or Humane Societies have chosen euthanasia over adoption for wolf dogs because of liabilities.  Many of the sanctuaries and rescues are full and are not taking in new animals at this time!!!
Do your research from a qualified source and remember, Breeders are marketing a product and they may not tell you the whole truth.
We are also in  need of your help. We can not do this alone. If you have wolf dog experience and are qualified to foster, there are many animals:

All the dogs in rescue are spayed or neutered. We require an application and a home check. It is our goal that these animals never find themselves in need of rescue again!!! Application

We can't take in more animals at this time because we simply can't afford it. Most of our expenses are paid out of our pocket.... donations are always welcome. 100% of your donation will go to animal care and is tax deductible. Our most immediate needs are medical expenses, ( our animals are kept on heartworm prevention year round)  feeding and fencing for new enclosures. We do not "kennel" these animals. They each have their own large habitat.  Monetary donations can be made by using the Donation button at the top of the page or email us for the address.
Thank You!!

If you know of a wolf dog  in need of placement or are looking for one to "life time foster":
read our intake and foster policy.

Take a few moments to look in your local paper in the *pets for sale adds*. Now multiply that by every paper in your community , every paper in your state and every paper in the US. ANIMALS HAVE BECOME A DESPOSABLE COMMODITY TO HELP SOMEONE MAKE A FAST BUCK . We are in a rescue crisis in this country. Many are from puppy mills who pump out literally hundreds and thousands of dogs, many are from back yard breeders and irresponsible pet owners. The end result is millions of canines & cats being euthanized in our shelters every year.

Please do your part to help. Adopt from a rescue and spay & neuter your pets!!!-

I have been blessed and honored to share my life with these special animals. But I can only hope for the day when there are no more wolfdogs to rescue.

The Grey Wolf  Rescue does not support the breeding of wolfdogs or the keeping of wolves in captivity. A captive wolf is a wolf with a broken spirit. If you are foolish enough to believe they will be happy living with you, think again. You have taken away the one thing they want above all else....their freedom.
